So far, Mathias has the longest playing career of any Memphis recruit having played for the Storm program for the past 7 years.  He has played most positions through his career, but he excels at hooker, flanker and scrum half.

A multi sport student athlete, Mathias has also competed in soccer, baseball and basketball while achieving an Academic Excellence Award scoring 31+ on his recent ACT. He participated in the Health Occupational Students of America club at Brighton High School and has been a long term member of the Holly Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

“He is a scrappy kid and has a great feel for the game “said Coach Josh Gardner at the signing.  “He has been a pleasure to coach.”

Mathias is planning to study biology while at Memphis. He joins the Memphis Tigers with fellow Storm players, Ramon Cantu and Cameron Walker.
