Tigers 7s Team Competes in SIRC Tournament

TJ Hardaway

TJ Hardaway

Atlanta, GA: The Memphis Tigers sent 10 brave souls to compete at the SIRC 7s tournament on October 26 and 27, 2013.

TJ Hardaway and Thomas Strickland both scored breakaway tries on Saturday.  TJ scored against the eventual winner, Arkansas State, outrunning their team in a 70 meter sprint that caused one ASU player to pull a hamstring.  Thomas had a nice long run against KSU.  (we need to 40 meter TJ and THomas and see who is faster.)  Two converstions were kicked by John Elmore.

On Sunday, the Tigers fell in a close one wiht Georgia Tech. TJ scored in this match,  and Thomas almost scored, only being stopped when he tried to center the ball in full time.  We needed the converstion to tie and he was sharp enough to remember that.  His attempt was valiant.

Players representing the Tigers included: Jonathan Bauer, Ronnie Roberson, Chris Lemons, John Elmore, TJ  Hardaway, Thomas Strickland, Quin Person, Iggy Crisoslome, John Gauge and Matthew Hill.
